Message From Director

In 2010 Hyogo Prefectural Government Cultural Centre celebrated the New Year for the very first time in our City Beach location.  The Centre reopened in August last year and I am delighted that we have been able to restart our original Japanese cultural activities as well the Japanese language course.  I am also pleased to note that the number of visitors to the Centre is steadily increasing.

Hyogo Cultural Centre has placed a strong focus on our resource library and we purchased approximately 600 new Japan related books last year.  This year I am committed to adding to the DVD library to make the Centre even more attractive.

We have also restarted the Chatterbox programme on Saturday afternoons and the number of participants has been gradually increasing.  It is a very casual exchange programme where you can speak in English or in Japanese, so please don’t hesitate to participate.

Finally, from this year The Japanese Weekend School is planning to move to City Beach.  For this reason the Centre now opens from Tuesday to Saturday each week and we are looking forward to welcoming many visitors.
